We have four more ears
Posted on 15 March 2021.Rosie and Violetta were born in 2002 and 2005 respectively. As their owners’ health deteriorated, both were relinquished to The Donkey Sanctuary in 2012. They stayed at a holding base in France before arriving in June 2015 at our headquarters in Sala Biellese.
A few months later, we were able to find a guardian home for Rosie and Violetta near Siena, where they received the appropriate care, attention and that unique relationship that only a family can give.
Recently, wild boars repeatedly damaged the paddock fencing and their presence often frightened the donkeys forcing them to escape. This situation along with age force the guardians to take the difficult decision to give their beloved donkeys back.
Rosie and Violetta returned to our site on 21 February, where, after a period of preventive quarantine, they will be able to return among many other friends with long ears.
Rehoming donkeys is the opportunity to share your life with these wonderful animals, which will pay you back with all their love.
Open your home to two donkeys: they will really change your life, and you will change theirs.
