Lunghezza (RM) seizure: final steps
It was February 20, 2018, exactly one year ago, when we had told for the first time about the Lunghezza Seizure, just outside Rome. After years of reports, complaints and dozens of dead animals, finally the Public Prosecutor of Rome had seized the 60 horses, ponies, mules and hinnies who survived.
Il Rifugio degli Asinelli has been alongside Legambiente and Progetto Islander, appointed as judicial receivers, and to IHP Italian Horse Protection, to treat, nourish, move and find a safe accommodation for all the animals involved.
Yesterday, a year later, we were there again, in the persons of our Fabrizio Massa and Francesco "Cecco" Pincin, for moving the last 11 horses and ponies.
These animals still need custodians
Although the emergency is over, we are still looking for families available to foster dozens of horses, ponies, mules and hinnies from the seizure: if you live in Italy and wish to home them, please fill this form and send it back to us.
